Make sure the travel sewing kit has heavy duty button thread. I've sewn actors into costumes in a pinch and had to sew ripped curtains.
Also have: hair pins, hair clips. And consider velcro and tissues and tweezers and hair dryer. If you aren't an actor, consider an A clamp or two.

We had rehearsal and Pa Ingalls told me that the hair on the violin bow had come out and was taped into place, and could I do something? (I guess I'm the violin guy). So I take out the hot glue stick and lighter, heat it up, and tack it back into place. Worked like a charm, and I never would have had it if you hadn't suggested it! |
