How about Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (5 women, 1 man)
Sordid Lives (I know someone already suggested it, but it's a hoot!) Cat On A Hot Tin Roof And, of course, there's always Steel Magnolias |

Hi,
If possible, I'd like a preview of Second Samuel, as well. TIA |

Hi Annette,
Like Don, I can't help you with the Southern play (though by an incredible coincidence, David Dean Bottrell is a friend of mine from spin class at the gym), but also like Don, I do have a suggestion for your high school teen/social issues play: 4 A.M. What's it like to be awake when the rest of your world is asleep? Meet an early-morning jogger, a radio DJ whose show may have an audience of none, a modern Romeo and Juliet, the author of a most unusual letter, and many other teen characters as they search for connection in the magic hour. Through a series of connected scenes and monologues, join them on their journey as they discover whether the monster under the bed is real and collectively wonder...is there anybody out there? Hitting such topics as suicide and abuse, as well as less heavy issues, it can be performed with a minimum cast of 3 males and 3 females, and while it's just barely a yearling, its productions have already experienced competitive success. Just last month a production won a youth one-act competition in Australia. It's available from Playscripts here: http://www.playscripts.com/play.php3?playid=1793 Cheers, Jon Dorf |

I can't believe no one said FAITH COUNTY by Mark Landon Smith. 6 females and 3 males. This will make the audiences roar!

I absolutely love the script, Second Samuel. It's awesome. I plan on doing it as soon as I can hog-tie and duct tape enough men to the stage. Funny thing is, we actually did Faith County this summer and our audience loved every performance. So much so, we've been asked to either revive it or do the second installment. I know I probably won't do the show again. But I am considering Part 2.
It's easy to stage...fun to do. |

I'll have to concur with doing Dearly Departed. We staged it a few years ago. Three other titles that come to mind of that ilk are Faith County, Play On, and First Baptist of Ivy Gap. None are sterling works, but seem to be enjoyable enough.
