Community Theater Green Room Discussion Board: KISMET / ENTRANCES

   Okay, bare with me everyone because I'm new to this board so I hope I'm doing everything right, lol

I just LOVE theatre and dance and one of my all time favorite plays is KISMET.  Live versions are so hard to find and I've already seen all the hollywood stuff, but it's not as good as theatre.

Anyway, one of my favorite scenes / characters is Lalume and how she makes her onstage entrance (being carried in on those beautiful carriage things, being carried by her slaves)   There's only a select few of those scenes on youtube.  Does anyone  know how I can see any more from other live versions out there?  (in particular Marin Mazzie's entrance in her performance in Kismet a few years back)

I know theatre's have strict rules about allowing people to see their work (which is very very VERY frustating, considering the point of putting on a musical is so people CAN watch, lol)  But, does anyone know how to see live versions of Kismet out there?

	It's not so much that the theaters have issues with people seeing their work; it's just that the owners of the work (copyright holders) don't much care for a theater abusing their license. I just paid MTI $1200 for the rental of material and rights to perform Seussical twice for a max of 400 people each time. If I turn around then and put that performance on Youtube, it's an infinite amount of performances for an unlimited amount of people. Would I love to put it up on Youtube for the world to enjoy? Well, maybe parts of it... :-) I'm especially proud of the scene and light design that I did... ...but if I do that, I run the risk of MTI seeing it. They probably won't, but it's a risk with some pretty stout repercussions. At best, they get it taken down from Youtube. If I do that several times, Youtube shuts down my entire account. At the absolute worst, MTI could have grounds to bring a lawsuit. Anyway, sorry I can't help with your OP... I just wanted to make sure you understood why it's sometimes tough to find videos online.
