Topic: Another HS director looking... Posted: 9/03/11 at 11:35am |
I have directed high school plays before...LOVE Neil Simon, especially Fools and the female Odd Couple, with a few changes.
Right now, I am looking for a straight show that is not edgy but is new and will have the local theatre people filling the seats. NOT something like the Laramie Project, although I'd love to... Something people have heard of and would be curious to see....I think I've got a fair amount of kids, but NO tech director so very little set. Maybe Almost, Maine or Inspecting Carol, since it's Nov. 20? Any other ideas? |

Hi Carole,
You might consider one of my two parodies, both of which are large/flexible cast and technically fairly simple: High School (non) Musical and Harry's Hotter at Twilight. Both should draw because of the name recognition of the underlying material, and they're fun. :-) You can read substantial excerpts of them online, and YouthPLAYS (which publishes Harry's Hotter...) allows you to order the entire script as an electronic perusal. http://www.playscripts.com/play.php3?playid=1335 http://youthplays.com/plays/view/160/Harrys_Hotter_at_Twilight Cheers, Jonathan Edited by jonplaywright - 9/03/11 at 12:46pm |
