That's good to know
I've been trying to recommend "Second Samuel"
for this thread myself but have not been able
to find a publisher or contact info for it.
All I could get were fantastic reviews.
So, "Second Samuel" is seconded
and welcome to the boards, ozzie!
Looking forward to your input.

Hi Ozzie, you should really consider uploading your script to us on the PS marketplace, we stream a flash reader for people to read your work easily, and offer an option for people to licence a performance where prefered.

You are in one of my favorite places. I use to spend weekends in the old Butler Island plantation. I have fond memories of 'the blessing of the fleet'. I would adore for you to do Second Samuel! You can contact my agent Marta Praeger at the Robert Freedman agency in NYC. I'll be glad to email you a copy if you can send me your address. It may be here on this site but I duno how to find it.
Here is a review and info on the Australian production.

Are you looking for a new, not yet produced play set in the Southeast or an established play? If you're looking for a new play that has not yet been produced in any format, I have a one that might interest you.
TITLE: The Great Algonquin GENRE: Satirical drama LOGLINE: A priggish resident of a boarding house grows irrationally suspicious of a new lodger. PRÉCIS: It is the Cold War Era and the unfounded fears of one lodger over a new lodger reflects the “tension and suspicion” of the time as symbolized by the recently released film THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL. The comedic subtlety and ambiguity in “The Great Algonquin” is intended to underscore the anxiety, skepticism, and outright dread of Communism injected into American life during The Cold War Era. CAST OF CHARACTERS: 4m,3f SCENIC REQUIREMENT: Combination living room/dining room TIME: Fall, 1951 APPROXIMATE RUNNING TIME: 85-90 minutes. COPYRIGHT: 2009 ROYALTY FEES: None for educational institutions, workshops, and amateur theatre companies. |

Well............I have been in contact with Pamela about doing "Second Samuel" after this performance. I absolutely loved the script and have placed a copy in front of our board with the agreement, if you produce it, I'll direct it! I have some concerns, but only in the limitations of my actor pool. I am hoping people from neighboring communities will come out and audition if I can get it approved. I'll keep ya'll informed. I'm wondering if Darien, GA is as ready for Second Samuel as I am!
