I have used shadeclothwhich is effective & you can get it from your local hardware centre outdoor section.

It is normaly availble upto 3.6 metre [12'] widths off the roll, so just buy enough shadecloth length to do the stage width, hanging the cloth width to cover the stage hieght. It comes in about six colours of which black is the best chioce, however one thing to be aware of is it is subject to a small amounts of light bounce, dependant upon the 'X' & 'Y' focusing of the lanterns in your 'Cafeatre' rig & with lighting sight lines. Hi Matt, I would hate to take business away from Vicki, but in storage I have many free remnants of black or white FR sharkstooth scrim the size you need.  Since it is unfinished, it doesn't have webbing along the top or a chain pocket at the bottom, but you could staple it tightly to a custom wooden frame.  Let me know, I would be glad to help.  -Dana

When painting a scrim if you use Casien paint you are able to wash it out & repaint another scene later on, as with the Rosco Iddings paint;-

Have a look at Vicki franks site for the transformation effect demo

While it is not as good as Cameleon scrim [vicki's product] you can use & get away with domestic continious net curtaining, but invarably there are a lot of draw backs using net curtaininng matterails.
