Help! We are doing a show for a middle school so we need something that will appeal to families.

Any kind of Melodrama. Depends on also if you want to get the audience invovled also. You want to keep in mind that if the audience is going to be digesting you don't want anything to heavy. "Snoopy" and "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" are always big crowd pleasers!

I've found that mysteries always go over very well, especially some of the old British ones like The Mouse Trap. Old Westerns are also quite fun...Noel Coward is great for comedies.

Look at the Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood. It's describe as a Monty Python type of show. We did it at our theatre last year as part of our main season and we actually had an even number of kids and adults at the performances. It's very funny and it sold really well. I can't remember but I think either Dramatists or Dramatic holds the rights. Hope this helps and good luck.
