Topic: Nunsense in a church? Posted: 7/23/09 at 2:44pm |
I'm going to go see Nunsense in a couple of weeks, so I'll have a much better idea at that time, but is this a show that can be done in a church without offending anyone?

EVERYTHING OFFENDS SOMEONE !
However, I have directed this show a couple times and its appeal is pretty universal with audiences. And for the most part, its pretty darn wholesome. We have had nuns in the audience and they were extremely
receptive and never offended.
I've never seen it done in a church. I am assuming it would be done in a church hall. I rather doubt that its the type show that would be appropriate for the alter. While not particuairly offensive, it certainly isn't religious either.

Thank you.
We've done Forever Plaid on the altar of a church (actually two different churches) and they were fine with that show. I was just curious as to how this one would stack up. I'll soon find out I guess as we're going to finally see it this Friday. |

I think Nunsense in a church would be a PERFECT stage setting! The only difficulty would be getting the "Grease" set up on the altar area without it looking "out of place" (!!?!)

So true! Our first Sister Amnesia quit because she felt that the 'Peter and John' scene was offensive.
But we had nuns and preists at show who all loved that part and laughed more than anyone else in the audience at the whole show =)
