Community Theater Green Room Discussion Board: Solo idea for "Sonny Bono"

Message

   I know, it sounds funny. I 'm performing a show where I play Sonny Bono. Most nights I will be singing "I Got You Babe" with "Cher". But we will not have a Cher every performance. Does anyone here have a suggestion for a song that I could do? Sonny did not have many solo hits, so I probably need to find something else- it can possibly be kinda goofy or cheesy. Thanks.

	Three thoughts: 1) Sonny only had one solo record that came close to the top 40: "Laugh at Me" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik2fsojW84c Which lends itself to some great comic situations. 2) You could mention that your Cher didn't show up for whatever reason, but "the beat must go on." Which, of course, leads into that song. 3) Explain that your Cher is missing, then do both parts, grabbing a long black wig for her voice. Have fun
