I know a lot of you have done one of the many versions of Dracula and would like your suggestions as to one that's REALLY good.
My perameters:
* medium-sized cast (10-15 would be ideal)
* simplish set (we work in a church w/ limited space)
* NOT a musical or a comedy
Thanks!

"Dracula" by Steven Dietz, published by Dramatists Play Service, Inc. in NY.
Our CT did this one in October 2006 (for Halloween). It was very well attended and received - lots of kudos from the audience. Cast size is about right for what you're looking for. Set can be relatively simple (not much set, with just set pieces brought on), if you have a creative set designer. It is a "straight" play - non-comedy, non-musical. This stage adaptation is relatively faithful to the Bram Stoker novel, while still being interesting for the stage. |
