...can't find that the song exists anywhere...suggestions? Thanks!

I've tried searching for it for you with the same results: nil. Some suggestions: 1) Check the videos of HelloDolly (1969) or TheMatchmaker (1958) [with Shirley McLaine in Irene's role] and see if the song is sung in them. 2) As difficult as it is to find this song (which Wilder may have invented), I doubt anyone would know you had made up your own tune.
3) Check with ThorntonWilderSociety and use their query system (at bottom of page) to pose your question.
