Cor blimey i couldn't find a topic to stick this under/
There are a few forum boards around that have topics covering SM's & Techies bags.
I was emailed this from 'Actors tips, which funnily enough is quite an interesting regular enewsletter -even though it is for proacters?
So what's in your bags?
If you call yourself an actor, the trunk of your car SHOULD contain:
1. All the things any intelligent car owner should contain (tools, flares, fix-a-flat, shovel, blanket, map, etc). 2. A meager amount of (emergency) food and water (Protein bars will do). 3. That battered old suitcase (currently in your basement) Including: Suit, dress shirt and tie, swimsuit, towel, 2 sets of street clothes (1 preppy, one gangsta). 4. TRACPHONE with a few minutes left on it. 5. Small trial versions of deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, sunblock. (A razor blade and some shaving cream. - ed) 6. Folding chair and umbrella. 7. The Script!!! Or any book of your choice, as long as you've got your LINES down. 8. Thermos filled with battery-acid-strength coffee. (And one with water to keep you hydrated.) 9. More non-perishable food. 10. A pad & pen. Best, K.K. I would also add this: Always carry your headshots, no matter where you are going. You never know who you will bump into. - Chad *** If you want to ask or answer a question, please visit our forums: http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=FMj3R&m=1dp0FO9SXu8bwn&b=nyeFL_3t5dMrE7TJ4gnluA *** This week's 10% off coupon code is AT151: http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=FMj3R&m=1dp0FO9SXu8bwn&b=wso7L6YAuBD.2b8huL9jHw ActorTips / The Gracia Group 360 West 43rd Street, Suite N9D New York, NY 10036 To unsubscribe or change subscriber options visit: http://www.aweber.com/z/r/?TIzMLOwstCwMTBwcHJwstEa0zIycnByMLA== Gawd I have enough trouble in remembering to take my house key & asthma spray.

Well, since I drive a minivan, I can cram a great deal more into it... I don't have the folding chair & umbrella, but I do have a wardrobe from jeans to business casual to evening gown (including at least two full sets of 1860s clothing, one a work dress & one a day dress including hoops, bonnet, gloves & parasol), a couple of assorted music books, business flats, China doll shoes, sneakers, sandals, Western boots... My "dance bag" includes, besides the basic toiletries, a minimal makeup kit, notebook, pen, digital voice recorder, small sewing kit, first aid kit, a few calling cards (thank goodness I make them myself!) with my contact information, a small jewelry roll with assorted costume jewelry, a can of freezing spray, a pair of character shoes & one of ballet slippers, bobby pins, hairpins, barrettes, scrunchies, clips, Ricola, Jelly Bellies... and anything else I feel NEEDS to be in there at any given time. This could be anything from Coddington's seminal work on the Gettysburg Campaign, to a photo of my great-nephew.

LOL! The only times I've even gotten funny looks were when I drove through IN the Civil War costumes...

Are you sure it's not Dr Who's 'Tardis'?
Or at least bigger than this 'Miniivan';-
Blimey in civil war costume, so where did you put the horse?

Which would beg the comment
"I know it's a horse! But what's it doing there?"

Sewing junk, duct tape... got to repair my own costume & loan out thread to a "Sweet Adeline". Note to actors: don't let the "Sweet Adelines" invade your dressing room/stage. They take forever putting on makeup, and their sets have so much glitter you will be picking it out of your socks months later.

LOL!! Odd you should say that, as I used to be a civilian attached to a cavalry unit.
The costume isn't bad to wear, though the hoops DO get in the way sometimes. The corset was custom made for me, so it's very comfortable - but I've discovered why they didn't use shoulder belts until women stopped wearing them...nothing to catch the belts when they slide upward!
