Topic: Looking for a female-driven farce.... Posted: 12/18/07 at 2:13pm |
Hi all,
We all know of some great farces......Noises Off......Moon Over Buffalo....Run for Your Wife, etc.
Does anyone know of any good farces that feature a woman (or women) as the lead character(s)?
Thanks,
Bernie

"Don't Dress for Dinner" has 3 very strong women in it. Suzette in particular controls a lot of the action.

Deborah Brevoort has a brand-new play, "The Poetry of Pizza" which is female-driven. A little more serious than your standard farces, but still, a farce is a farce.

You may wish to check out "Whose Wives are They Anyway". This is a great new "American" farce based in a golf/country club. It has geat female parts and has the added benefit of not using that pesky english accent people have been complaining about.

I just read for a part in the Cemetary Club...4 women, 1 man and very funny although the ending is a little sad for a comedy

Perfect Wedding by Robin Hawdon, available through Samuel French (someone also suggested Don't Dress For Dinner, it is written by the same author)
