If you don't have many performances, why not make multiple wands that break. You could make the top of the wand removable and attach it to your next one for the next performance. I recently had a door that had to be kicked in. I removed the wood in the jam and replaced it with balsa wood. That way all I did was replace the broken part each time and not the entire door. Try something like that for your wand.
