How about The Revenge of the Space Pandas? Children's show written by David Mamet! How can you do better than that?

Don't know if you've checked out Dramatic Publishing's website (www.dramaticpublishing.com) but they have some good plays for kids. I did Charlotte's Web (straight play) for a "by kids/for kids" type of theatre and had really positive feedback on the production. The script was fun and the kids loved it.

How about doing a good old ?Panto?.
While most are primarily British [POHMY] they are completely flexible in being localised easily & adapted to suit your age group &/or area. A good source comes to mind is;- Lazy Bee Scripts http://www.lazybeescripts.co.uk/ which is also a helpful site with info on the traditions of Panto & along with downloadable scripts. Also if you check out a previous topic here;- ?Plays with actual commercial breaks? http://www.communitytheater.org/discuss/forum_posts.asp?TI D=2109 With panto scripts it is easy & allowable, to accommodate local commercial ads. Further coining a bit of brass for the theatre as well at the same time! Beside they are great fun to do for "Children of all ages". Using traditional fairy tales mainly & where the Panto Dame is a male & the Principal boy is a girl. |

Still Life With Iris Amazing show, really depends on the age of your actors, though, 6-7year olds couldn't do it, maybe like 12-18ish... 2 hours

Jonathan Rand has several shows that are great for younger casts and small stages. He's got his own website where you can read excerpts and view pictures from other productions: http://www.jonathanrand.com/
I've done a few of these and always had a lot of success.

The Romancers is what the Fantasticks is based on, right? I've read it but not seen or been a part of a production of it.
