Topic: help with booth fundraiser

We are a small community theatre in a small town that does not have the luxury of big business sponsorship. There are tons of festivals in this area and we would like to rent a booth and use it as a fundraiser. We want to do something unique and not just sell hamburgers or hot dogs. Many of these festivals have waaaaay too many of these types of vendors. ANY outlandish ideas out there that we can use in a festival booth? Food or otherwise? Will take ANY idea....you are the best!!!!!

Work out a deal with the city (or whomever) to sell the glow-in-the-dark necklace thingies at the 4th of July fireworks. You can usually find "lots" on sale on eBay or probably oriental trading.

Haven't tried it here yet, but they seem to be big sellers other places.

face painting is always a hit with the kids, baked goods, candy and water would do well... we used to do a tye dye booth. buy a t-shirt we help you dye it...

Basket Raffles make great money. Have various businesses and peole donate different things like vidoe rental, microwave popcorn, candy, soda, napkins, cups, straws and you have a night in basket. Or Pail and shovel filled with sun tan lotion, towel, beach ball, and bottles of water for A day at the beach basket. Then raffle them off for $1.00 a ticket or $5.00 for an arms length. With people donating the various items you'll have little cost and no one feels that they have to make huge donation. This should generate some money for you.

If you have access to props or costumes from past productions, you could set up a Photo Booth. Either have a generic backdrop or various backdrops painted by your designers or volunteers.

You can charge per person or per photo (it's a good idea to limit the amount of people in the picture at one time).

Last week our theatre group did a very fun booth at a very colorful event. I already posted it in this forum so I'll just send you a link:

Look for the Magazine Cover promo idea. You may have a local media that you already work with who may be thrilled with this idea. It works especially well if the event is colorful (like 4th of July, etc.)

We held a silent auction during our town's recent "event". Local businesses and nearly all of our actors and their families donated something ... be it white elephant stuff (EG: birthday party baskets, holiday decorations, a quilt, ect.) or services (EG: taloring, babysitting, lawn mowing, etc.). We raised over $1000 just inviting people to come and bid on our stuff.

However, instead of the bid sheets for each item, we had boxes and people were asked to note the highest price they were willing to pay for the item. Amazing how much some stuff sold for, while others were almost given away!

There are many different ways to approach any type of fundraisers.For fundraising the first priority would be the financial goal.Fundraiser Candies is also a successful way.M&M fundraising candy boxes, creative thoughts, labeling, packaging, selling techniques, even lollipops, candy pizzas and fun-filled events, can all work as potential settings for successfully selling candy for fundraising purposes and a wide array of causes.Fundraiser candies
